Who are we?

Hi I’m Phil Owen, a qualified electrician of 24 years. Starting my career working in commercial and domestic sectors, I now only work and specialise in high powered off grid marine and leisure vehicle installs. I’ve lived off grid for 22years, whether it be on land or water and this has gained me first hand experience of how to deal with electrical demands.

Over the last 10 years I have developed specific systems that we offer:

Our telescopic solar tilt system that we have manufactured ourselves.

and 'The Boat Battery' which is the only lithium battery pack designed for inland water vessels.

The Team working along side me are:

Dean, a trained installer that with enough black coffees, can install our Solar systems to my high standard.

Dylan, a Lithium Battery technician in training, he is workshop based, building 'The Boat Battery'

Rich, Our workshop based carpenter building battery boxes and electrical cupboards.

We are based in Cosgrove near Milton Keynes, We will travel any distance, in our very well equipped and stocked workshop van, (with travel and accommodation paid for.)

Lithium Power.

Lithium battery technology is proven the best value for domestic power, its been around long enough now. We’ve installed over 300 lithium installations since 2015 and it really is a game changer. The initial cost is higher, but when lab tested along side every type of lead technology, shows the comparison that lithium is on average 6 times less cost per kwh than lead acid and that’s under lab conditions where in real life, the lead acid would get a much harsher deal. This is even before taking in to account the labour of changing the lead acid many times and the diesel and engine wear costs due to longer engine running, adding to that the inconvenience of longer engine runs, living with dying Battery’s every two years, and constantly having to worry about whether your taking voltages too low. Although the 100 year old lead acid chemistry still has its value, its perfect at given out a high power for a very short burst, so when used for starting an engine it can go on for many years.

Victron Cerbo GX

The Cerbo Gx is is a state of the art communication center, it connects to all Victron devices together, allowing you to see what each one is doing and instantly adjust settings, it links to your mobile devices over the internet, so you can keep track on levels, temperature, even start your onboard generator from anywhere. I often link temp sensors in the calorifier, on the roof and in the cabin, level gauges in the water tank and diesel tank. I’ve even connected door sensors to one so it alerts the boat owner of any entry while they were not aboard.
